best two rubber mallet sizes to own?

I'm looking at buying some sort of rubber / soft mallet hammers, and think the Wiha ones are nice. I only want to get two, but I can't decide on the larger size, 2" or 2.4" ? what do you think?

Probably the bigger one. I like the heft of the largest SO deadblow mallet, I think it's 54 oz, so comparable to your bigger one. You can use the bigger one to knock loose stuck German wheels.

With out knowing what you intend to do with said mallet all answers are just a wild guess that would maybe serve your purpose.

I would look at Wiha's dead blow mallets; IMO, they are much nicer than those.

I think 40mm is the most common size but it depends on what you do....

I've never had a soft face hammer. Strange considering my general love for hammers.

I'd use a bit of wood to cushion the blow, but I guess that's my poor upbringing.

Im looking for split head hammers for my brother. He likes Garland for his mason work using rawhide. I'm trying to find a good deal as well. Wiha seems to have some nice split heads but not really geared towards mason work.
