I am welding together two pieces of Angle on the long axis, stiffening one with the other. One is 2-1/2", the other 2" nested in it. This is part of a finger brake project I am building. I will TIG weld this and will skip weld it together. I want the end result as straight as possible, so was wondering if it is best to start in the middle and work my way out both directions, or alternating ends working towards the middle. The large angle is 53" long, the other 50" long.

The more you weld the more it will warp. Clamp it down good and make sure you set the amps high enough that a few dabs doesn't take more then a couple seconds. Nice small stitches & let it cool lots in between. One in the middle, one at each end then stop and let it cool, rinse & repear
