I just got an old Rem-line 3 drawer cabinet and preparing to restore it. What is the best way to quickly remove paint and rust so I can refinish it. I have looked into electrolysis, acids, sandblasting, and grinders. Your advice would be appreciated.

I started doing mine with paint stripper it was slow going. A friend has a sand blast cabinet and suggested I give it a try. Sand blasting was a great way to remove the paint and rusty areas. I had a few areas where I needed to skim coat with body filler.
I was pleased with the results.

I just started tonight using a wire wheel and a grinder. I was surprised how easily the paint came off and I was able to get down to bare metal very easily. Now I just need 3 hours to finish the whole thing.
