I have $100 I feel like spending.

What's the coolest/best/most essential tool I can buy for $100?

New or used? What do you NEED? What do you currently have?

Northern Tool has a couple impact, extension and adapter sets on sale plus the $20 off $100 coupon.

I think buying everything works out to about $105 shipped

The best way to spend a hundred dollars is likely not on tools.
But if you have to spend it on tools, you can get pretty close to a pnuematic fan clutch wrench set on ebay.

right this second? I dunno. I've spent that much(or less) on CL finds that were worth twice that or worth their weight in gold.
seriously if you can wait for a sale. the best thing I ever bought for a hundred bucks was a craftsman bench top drill press.
it was maybe 5 years ago. it was around fathers day when they do the "dads & grads" sale. I think it was $110 and 10% off. so 100 clams!

You guys won't agree with me, but the best way to spend $100 is something Snap-on. A ratchet would last a lifetime and is completely rebuildable.

I'd be tempted to get a Snap On F80, and a couple of Felo, Wiha, or Wera drivers.

Or maybe something from Nepros, KoKen, Hazet, or Stahlwille.

A clipboard and a pencil and paper.... put the remaining $95 on the clipboard and the paper on top of it... A good quality shop broom and dust pan... A proper fire extinguisher. A pencil sharpener for those pencils.. A good trouble light.. A small floor jack,,, some jack stands..

Opps, does it have to be a chrome plated tool??

A good light is really nice. I bought a central tools bounce light, but found there are cheaper options out there. You can get a bright flourescant light for around 40 bucks.

My FHLF80 is probably one of my favorite tools, it gets a TON of use. I would go with plain chrome handle if I bought it again though. The comfort grip gets beat up with use.

Knipex mini bolt cutters, these things are unlike any other. Absolute strength for cutting wire and nails, bolts, whatever. Worth every penny.

24 inch breaker bar.
