Beta tools in USA, ProCare USA.

Anyone else have luck buying Beta tools in USA. I visited their web site, and they have what it looks like to be one dealer store, a ProCare down in southern California. I have called and left a couple messages with no replies back and also an email, same, no response back.

Their voicemail states hours between Monday & Friday, but it seems no one is there, ever.

Anyway, curious if anyone else here has actually heard back from this ProCare and how long it took to get prices and stock info.

I ordered from their website around the April time frame. Evidently, they were moving or consolidating to their current Huntington Beach location. I got a call in September about my order and I updated my payment information and they promptly sent it out with a paper copy of their 2007 catalog. They have pricing on their website and you can order online. I only ordered a couple of screwdrivers and a 1/4 spinner handle to see how the handles felt. I think they would be a good source if you have a Beta Tools fetish. I think their service will improve now that their move is completed.

One would think but so far, email and voicemail messages, nothing. I know with my customers, if they don't get a call the day they leave me a voicemail, they would be pissed and go elsewhere.

And April to September before they got back to you on your order. Seems like rubbish to me.

Maybe I will have to decide against Beta if that is the case.

I would prefer so-so tools with a place that offers great customer service versus great tools with crappy customer service.

If I don't hear back in a day or so, I will move along and forget that brand until maybe a better store comes into the picture.

Great prices and all but I thought Beta was high end stuff.

I've bought a number of tools on Amazon - my wife said it's a pretty safe way of doing business. You can compare prices and ratings of all the sellers. You'll save a good bit of money there.

I have purchased all sorts of stuff from Amazon, and even my last Gearwrench.

Just surprised Beta tools will be on there is all.

If they carry the cool 72 gear ratchets I wanted to get from that ProCare but never received emails back, I will probably get them from Amazon. Will keep my eye open for them.

Those 1-piece hex bits look good to me - it drives me crazy when a bit pulls out of those c-man spring-loaded sockets.

You've got that right. I placed quite a few orders through them since late 2008, and have been very pleased.

I am a bit surprised as well, but to be fair, it's unjustified. Small Parts has been increasing their selection of Wiha, Wera, and PB Swiss tools; it only makes sense for them to expand to cover other tool brands.

I just found out I'm local to them. I'm going to make it out to their retail shop sometime next week, and I'll try to bring a camera with me to take some photos. We've corresponded through email and so far, they've been pretty friendly. Although they're not open on weekends.

For less than $50 for a 3/8 72 tooth ratchet from a company with a background like Betas? I think that's a great deal.

My 2007 catalog shows a price of $72.00 for that ratchet, and $94.80 for the 920/55 1/2 drive version. I can only find the 900/55 1/4 inch drive version with 48 teeth for $52.80. I've always found Beta tools to be a little pricey but, that's just me. There are plenty of other alternatives out there.
