Hi guys and girls. I have a thread that I did a few years ago in a different section about re-doing my 2 car garage so I can put 4 cars for storage. I never did introduce myself formally so here I am. I live in SoCal where land is at a premium. My wife and I just bought a house in the foothills of Orange County. Pretty nice house that has some big problems. There were a few reasons we bought this house. One is that its on a 24K square foot pretty flat lot. Second is that its in a good neighborhood with good schools. Third is that we were able to buy a house that worked for our family despite the major problems the house has. So as I gear up to do some major construction on the house the Mrs came up with the brilliant idea of building my dream shop first. Well my dream shop would be in the neighborhood of 5,000 square feet but that won't fit. So I am going to try to run a 40x60 by the county building department and see if it flies. When we bought the house the preliminary talks with the building department while we were in escrow look promising so we took the chance and bought the house. Now its time to plan it all out and I am pretty excited about it. I used to have a 1200 square foot shop in an industrial area that I rented for years and with buying this house, and keeping the old house for a rental, I had to move out. So I moved into my 850 square foot 3 car garage for now (minus lift, boo hoo). I do all my own restorations on 60's Mopar muscle cars and I drag race a Dart or 2. So my shop will have to function as a shop and a storage lot for old dead Mopars.

Here are some pics of the yard. The shop will go where the trailer is in the picture.

Evening Wingman... your space looks beautiful. I sure it will pale in comparison to your shop!
