I just picked up a snap on classic 78 tool box and its got the crappy foam drawer liners like my old kra4813. I hate them because when you shut the drawers everything including the liners move. THe mat on top of my box is awsome is there anyway to get that style for the drawers?
Better SO drawer liners.

You could always get the liners from a similar sized KRL box. Yes they're expensive, but I haven't seen a better liner. The tools in my krl722 never move, even when shutting the drawers hard.

The liners for the KRL boxes are a PVC impregnated fabric; tools stick to them like glue.
I just did a little research here and see that the ones on ebay are close to the krl ones? DOes anyone have any experience with these?

Lucky3/Post #6, The seller in your linked EBAY ad is Mike Ryan. His families company ( I believe JONCO) cuts the Snap On KRL liner to size before S.O. installs.
JONCO will not sell anybody the S.O. product.
I have bought the similar product from Mike Ryan and it is very good.

Kitchen drawers liners are not cheap if you add them up. The best deal we've found lately is the HF ones, they are wide enough for the deep drawers too...
And if you do find 30" material from him, can you post here and let us know? I just picked up a used KRL and the liners have seen their fair share. I really like the material and I'd like to replace the liners soon.
Just bite the bullet and order KRL drawer lines. They are the best. One thing no-one mentions is that they are also thin. That can mean the difference of a full drawer closing or not compared to thicker materials.

You can buy rolls of the good drawer liner from a matco dealer in a 30 foot roll in 25, 28, and 31" widths, then you can cut it to fit your drawers as needed. Its not cheap but its worth the investment. The Matco part numbers are

Couldn't find this on Matco's website, but found it in an old GJ post. In that thread was the following 2009 pricing.
The nsdl-7500 is $150
nsdl-8500 is $189
nsdl-9500 is $194
The issue with this is it's the same price as buying pre-cut from snap on. The 8500 would line out a KRL1022 (almost) and buying from snap on is $185 shipped.

I like this stuff too. It's sticky (at least when new), so I don't have any problem with stuff sliding around. According to the label, it has "rust gard" that is supposed to help keep tools from rusting (who knows how?).

I had that issue with some Snappy side boxes I restored. I bought a few rolls of cheap no-name liner off of amazon for around $8 a roll or something like that. Very very sticky stuff, works great at holding tools and sticking to the drawers.
You wont be disappointed. Open them once you get them and let them air out, they have that nice Chinese plasticy-rubber smell.

Is the carpet that good like Michael posted? I would think the Yogi mats are too thick, atleast from what I have seen at Target and Wal-Fart.
Looked at rubber mesh from the kitchen area too. I want to stay away from imported stuff as off-gassing and support is tops.

Someone on this site suggested the black rubber floor runner stuff Lowes sells by the foot. One side is smooth , the other is a ribbed surface, this stuff seems heavy duty and inexpensive... and looks good... too good... My son (10) Armor-Alled mine while I made a beer-run.
You would think that inserting a liner into a tool box you would know how to use a measuring tape, straight edge, scissors or knife.

Mac liner is really nice stuff. After I bought by MB1705 I bought a roll of their liner for my Rousseau cabinets and drawers. Its thin and, keeps stuff from moving and has a bit of cushion to it as well.

I was thinking about changing out my harbor freight toolbox liners as well and I like the Home Depot carpet idea. Might try that out and maybe even order some of the Non-slip toolbox liners as well to test out.
