My girlfriend had a PT appointment yesterday morning, in our nearby, medium sized city. Afterward, I didn't want to waste the journey for just that, so I drove to Harbor Freight. She actually came in with me, which is rare, and as we were leaving, she motioned to the tool cabinet display near the door and said "don't you want one of those?" I showed her the 44" bottom cabinet, telling her that is what I already have, but had told myself the next time the top box was on sale for $269, I was going to get one, and now they've lowered the price to $249. She said, "let me buy that for you." Uh, uh, well...OK.

We were in her Mazda3, which frequently surprises us with what it will hold, with the back seats folded forward. They loaded one up and here it is!

I'm still trying to decided which HF box I want. All 3 sizes are in play for me. Ugh. Am I the only one who wishes the deep two drawers on the bottom of the top box were four shallow ones instead?

You do realize that you can replace the deep drawers with shallow ones.

Thanks, guys, for confirming what I know. We've been together for about eight years now. I never complain when she keeps adding to her 'to-do' list. She's usually right with me, trying to help, and this is a way she often pays me back.

We've both been married before and know better than to mess up a good thing. Neither of us is going anywhere!

Back to the important thing: I bought the bottom box back when they were 'matte' finish, so they don't match, but that's OK. They both hold tools just as well. It's just nice to be able to spread out my most-used tools from a 26 inch top box to this bigger one. One day, maybe I'll have this one packed tight with tools!

Let me tell you about our favorite Valentine's Day, from a few years ago. We ended up at the grocery store, at some point that day. She suggested we go to the card aisle, pick out cards for each other, show what cards we picked, then put them back. That's what we did, hugged, told each other 'happy Valentine's Day,' and went home. Every Valentines since, she mentions how fun that was.

No clue, I just know you can move the drawers around in these boxes. I moved the bottom 2 drawer in my side box into the middle and moved 3 smaller drawers to the bottom. So I know you can put 2 small drawers in place of one drawer. I think you can find a parts list for the top box and call HF customer service and order extra parts.
