Anyone ever put one in the shop? Anything to look out for? I have a chance to get a 16' BAF NEW on a deal that I am thinking about putting in my new 30x 30 garage/shop.

I'd have one in a heartbeat if my garage was big enough. Even the smallest "commercial" model would make mine hover...

Whats the length and width of the shop? I could only use one if I didn't have lights above it. that strobe effect of the lights shining through the blades would drive me nuts. However if your space allows it, they do move a lot of air. Also check your minimum required distance between the fan and ceiling. I seem to recall a minimum of 3'.

I plan to put in 4 of these, with a cost of $400..

The BAF does have an very good advantage of moving way more air than many of these smaller fans at a much smaller power draw. So if you are using it day-in day out it may be the way to go. For me though just a few evenings and some weekends in the shop would it would never pay for itself for me.
