I dont have a big joe, but have a Raymond pallet stacker, 48" forks and lifts 60", with a 2200lb capacity. They are very useful around the shop for moving heavy stuff. I built a cover that goes over the forks that locks in place, made of 1-1/4" plywood to make a work surface/platform.

I have 2 complaints about these kind of lifts. First the legs always seem to get in the way and second, you need to put your load towards the back of the forks. A heavy load out on the tip of the forks can tip the lift. Other than that, they are great. Mine takes up about the same space as an engine hoist and gets used much more.
