Big *** Lights?

I'm about to redo the lighting in my garage and a local automotive detailer has Big *** Lights in his shop and recommended them to me. They're pretty expensive at about $400 a light but according to their sales guy I'll only need two in my single car garage. According to their data sheet, they emit as much light as 16 60W bulbs.

I read a couple of older threads that mentioned a relatively high failure rate of these lights (they are warranted for 7 years) so that's given me pause. They do have a newer line of lights called Haiku that I haven't read much about.

Does anyone have personal experience with these lights in their home garage? Despite the price, do they live up to their hype?

From a spec point of view, they're over-engineered, under-performing and waaaaay over priced. They haven't changed in a couple of years, but the technology in LED land has changed many times over.
You can do much better.
Good luck

Thanks for the input. Do you have any recommendations for a better alternative

My recommendation is to start a new thread asking for help. Include the dimensions of your space, including ceiling height, wall material and color, and how you intend to use your space. Include your budget so we know how fancy or stingy you want to be. You'll get a lot of responses ranging from the cheapest **** mankind ever created to some pretty decent stuff.
Good luck.

Big *** products = big *** waste of money.

Check some of the stickies here, there is excellent lighting information.

for that small a space you could have a better solution for $200 all in.
Thanks, I'll look into alternatives. I need a solution that uses side wall mounted lights as I'm putting a 4-post lift in my garage and I need the height. Ceiling is just over 10'.
