Hey everyone,

First post and I need help with my garage. The walls are insulated and sheetrocked, but I need to finish the ceiling and blow in the insulation. I have a 24x36 garage with 10.5 ft ceilings. I was eyeing up the Reznor UDAP, but can't get myself to spend the money. I have decided to go with the Big Maxx, but cannot determine the size to get. Researching these heaters, the output BTU is 40k and 64k for the 50 and 80 respectively. I am a bit concerned that the 50k is too small, but also do not want the 80k to be short cycling. I am also toying with the idea of adding a ceiling fan. Can anyone shed some light on this?

I am in central MN and in the winter, I have the thermostat set to 53-55 (at my old house). I will bump it up to 65-68 when doing work out there, but then drop it back down when not in there.

Thanks!

900 sqft insulated ........50k will be fine. It’s my exact situation. Similar climate.....set at 50* up to 60* when working.

I had 75k that was very rusted and the board failed. Replaced with a 50k its been fine.
75-80k will work too.......but.......example at 38* outside run time will be very short.
At 1500-1800 sqft would make more sense to run with 80k.

I have 50K in 960 sqft and 12 foot ceiling and a ceiling fan in the center with a 10 by 12 door to the South and a 10 by 10 door to the West in Southeast Wisconsin. I have no problems maintaining Heat.
