Got everything except venting hooked up. The manual states"A metal stamped extruded transition is supplied with this unit. " There was nothing like this in the box. I bought unit from menards and they sold me what they thought would connect the unit to a 3-inch horizontal double wall pipe thru garage wall. Can i reduce the outlet from heater to do this with type b venting? Am having a heating contractor come by tomorrow for suggestions. Would like to complete job myself if possible.

Attached is a picture of the outlet.

Buy the Mr Heater horizontal vent kit. With some searching, I found one for $300 about a year ago. It comes with a 3 to 4 adapter and 4” vent and instructions. It has only 5’ of pipe length, the minimum recommended, and 12-18” of that sticks out of the wall, so you position the heater accordingly. Or buy more pipe.

My Menards carried Saf-T Vent in 4" diameter that I ended up using. I had to get a 3" to 4" adapter as well. Buying the pieces separately ended up costing me around $225, including the stainless wall thimble. Menards has 11% rebate going now as well.

If you are planning to vent horizontally you are required to use CAT-III Stainless vent pipe.
