Big Maxx Vertical vent ?'s

After looking I think and Every thread in this forum, concerning big maxx installs, My heads turning in circles, abit.
So here is my situation
If I hang my heater in my chosen location, with all clearances observed. It looks like I could just use a standard 12" straight pipe out the back of unit, then a standard elbow, and be about 18 inches to underside of roof osb.
This per my local code:
The vent termination shall be located not less than 3 feet (914 mm) horizontally from any portion of the roof structure.
^^^ By this info, My out the top portion would only need to be 24 inchs - Plus rain cap ^^^

So,,,,, will B-vent hook to standard adjustable 90 elbow?

If so, I can use a standard 12 out from unit, standard elbow, then buy a 4 or 5ft B-vent pipe, to run up thru my firestop on interior ceiling of osb, and thru roof flashing, end with storm collar and rain cap, and be done. Along with sealing all joints with high temp tape, and sealing storm collar.

Does this seem right to you?



By doing it this way, it seems to me I'd be duplicating the factory install kit's method without getting stuck with pieces I don't need.

So I'll assume that Knowone has a clue?

I went ahead and got a B-vent draft hood, to hook to back first, then an elbow and a 5ft piece. So it will be an all B-Vent install. This will give me the height I need for proper roof clearance. Of course I got the 4" firestop, flange, storm collar and rain cap.

your thinking Horizontal, using stainless with higher cost.

Vertical kits have standard 1 wall pipes then a B-vent where it goes thru the roof. Like this:

That kit comes with an elbow

Good price too

You need a bvent elbow, to connect to bvent
