Big maxx vs. Hot dawg floor height

Read both manuals and hot dawg states 5 ft clearance to bottom in residential applications. Big maxx is 8'. Anyone have some insight why the big maxx is so much more? My ceiling where I want to put it is 8ft in that area. Am I stuck with the hot dawg? Thank you

Hmmm not sure why the difference,, But I would defer to you local code.

I do believe the 8ft is just to make sure anything that fits in your garage door, wouldn't hit the heater while going under it. Kinda goofy thou.

Power venting have anything to-do with it?

My hot dawg is power vented, not sure about the big maxx
