Today I toured the East Broad Top Railroad. It is in central PA and originated in the late 1800s. It has been resurrected as a Tourist attraction. As part of the tour we went thru the round house. In the back of one bay was this Parker vise. It is about the biggest vise I have ever seen. No idea of it's age.

Thank you for the reply. That vise was in that roundhouse for a long time. I was wondering if it was original to the railroad or part of the reopening about 30 years ago.

Wow, that's a monster.
While this has obviously survived hard treatment and come out on top, I do wonder about the extra leverage of those tall jaws onto that comparatively small slide down below. I wonder how this would stack up against Fireball Tool's latest vise test.

Parker advertised it as a Combination Pipe Vise that could hold 6" pipe, which makes that bent handle really impressive.

I could see them needing that for plumbing steam locomotives.

I think there is a Parker that big or bigger at our local Peddlers Mall if anyone interested? The thing is big. And is missing a few parts and the thing is big. I think they are asking $200.00 and that thing is big.

This vice is a Columbian. So massive and wondering how they got it in the Flee Market?
