I was able to order online for in-store pickup in Denver. It hasn't yet shown in my email or been taken from my bank account but it's only been a few minutes

I own that Jack.

I paid more and wouldn't recommend it at full price.
I am hesitatant to say it's a great deal. It functions, but it is not a nice tool.

Reviews are very mixed. I have the little scissor HF jack that goes up about 2 feet and like it.

I have a transmission lift, and it is not this one. the one I have is nice, I suppose, and I feel comfortable with it, but, *personally*, this is not one of the places I am looking to maximize my savings. even my T5 transmission, that weights about 100 pounds, would hurt if it fell on me from four or five feet in the air, not to mention likely cracking the case.

this one does not look like it is well braced, there is no handle to roll it around, and the legs are not as wide as I would like to support the height I might use it at.

of course, I paid over 200$ for mine, which I thought was a great deal at the time.

good luck either way.

better choice would be build a small rolling table and use the scissor type jack on it.

LOL you guys are trying way too hard.

FWIW I've used a "drivetrain lift" (HF actually used to market a facsimile of the OTC) and it ***** having to work around anything w a footprint resembling a table.

A single upright is WAY better for human accessibility. I've got a Ranger (Bendpak) now so I've used both.

this is completely true. I also found that 24" locking socket extensions were exceptionally useful.

the general style of this lift is optimal, I just would not feel comfortable with the safety aspects of it. it looks optimized for low cost.

Also I've used my Ranger just to pull several t-cases.

Sure, I *could* hoist a ~75# t-case into place but I don't feel like it....plus if I don't get it in the first couple stabs I may be too fatigued to keep trying... and if you're talking NP205 or 203 fuggedaboutit

....or in my classic fashion I get it on the tailshaft beautifully on the first try (yay!).....then oh **** I forgot to put the paper gasket on the tailshaft housing... But w a jack you just slide it back, set it on the jack plate, slide gasket on and go again

Yeah sometimes I use silicone but then they're a ***** to pry apart later

So the point of all this rambling is that the Big Red in question should at least be adequate for t-cases.

There is a much better version, TR4055, but as expected it costs much more. The reviews of the TR4053 are pretty bad so I am inclined to pass even at $75. Plus, I think I want a 2 stage jack so I don’t have to lift the trans as high to get it on the jack. Of course, they cost more also.

Yeah I do use a hydraulic cart to get it lower than my single stage Ranger. Granted, it's one more thing in the shop but I use the cart (table if you like) for sooooo much more. But again, not practical to drop a trans working around a big cart, plus virtually none go high enough.

But yeah, 2 stage would be sweet!
