That looks like it was made for ridgid by Columbia and looks to be a very big vise indeed I would give it a fair value of 200-250 dollars but I am not vise expert so take my advice with a grain of salt.

I would also concur that it is worth at least twice what you paid for it.

^ ^ ^ This. Wow that's a GIANT vise and great score for the money.

So big you might need a Lower bench to attach, so you're not reaching up to get to the jaws!! :D

Combination pipe and machinists' vise. 6" jaw x 10" opening, 162 lbs. Probably 1980s vintage by the look of it.

Nice heavy-duty vise.

Looks like you're missing the pipe jaws. They're Ridgid p/n 90785, although I wouldn't hold my breath on them still being available.

it is always rough when your vise is larger than your drill press.

Geeez, that is one big vise. Nice job, getting that one. How the heck did you carry it around, three big buddies?

I just found a Rigid 60cpn in Rhode Island—and brought it home…the fellow i purchased it from got it out of an old mill that was closing in the 1970s…does anyone know what years Rigid made these vises with the Rigid brand? Any other information on them would be great…mine has the pipe grip inside…33D9C3B8-0F5B-4D15-BD26-2ECB86669D64.jpeg

I have a smaller version of this Ridgid vise that I recently finished restoring. They are incredibly well built. Mine came out of the old Nestlé chocolate factory in Fulton, NY where it was purchased new and used for over half a century.20230918_161814.jpg20230918_161939.jpg

Just me probably, but I think a dark chocolate brown would have been a great color for that vise. 🍫😆

To each his own. I've painted a LOT of vises different colors over the years from black to bright gold, but never used brown (and probably never will).

EDIT: Ok it took a lot longer than it should have RTM, but I finally got the joke! 😀
