Looks like the sapphire blue color!
I want it, but just a little too much money.

I can only dream of owning something 1/10 of that size. My money's ******* in:

Mortgage, retirement savings, son's 529 college savings and whatever expenses that coes along.

With a 6,000 lbs weight rating, I wouldn't be too worried, although I bet it's a ***** to move. I don't get the top cabinet over the top boxed. The key lock only locks the lid, the drawers are locked by a lever under the lid. Since he is wasting a ton space, I bet the box isn't as loaded as one would guess. Giant boxes like that make me feel old. When I started, my 1022 was a big box and a triple bank combo was holy **** that's a giant box. Christ, tech school flunkies have bigger boxes then me now.

Wow.
That guy must be an awesome mechanic.

Either a really good mechanic, or really likes to screw people.

There is a guy here in town that has about 4 yellow snap on triple bay roll cabs. They used to be lined up against the back of the shop, now he's built a much larger shop and hired more techs. Everyone I know talks about how awful he is to his customers, selling services that aren't needed and so on.

But maybe they're all just jelly, I don't know the guy.

He also has a yellow lamborghini gallardo.

Always hated guys with the monster boxes like that. That he these big boxes and didn't have basic tools to do work. They're constantly asking to borrow tools but they have that monster box.

I'd rather have a smaller box loaded with useful tools. Empty square inches does not impress me.

Same as my house I suppose. We bought on the "smaller" end of things, and would rather have it furnished and useful than have wasted empty square feet.

Some of you guys are fn brutal, you'd think by now it wouldn't surprise me anymore but it's always the same ole ****.

Anyhow that's a sweet set up Ddawg. But instead of assuming it's all show and no go I'll just ask, does he use it?.

The guy is NOT a mechanic.....he is a business owner who has a bunch of machines for making stuff out of wood.

I looked in the drawers....SO tools....and a few misc non SO stuff....but most of it was in foam forms....that way he knows is something is not missing.

He told me he had about $40K in just the box.....

Looking at the wood working machines he has....this is not a 2-bit operation. His bread and butter is doing custom solid wood flooring. Next is custom tables. I think I'm going to have him make a table top for me.

When I had my body shops I wouldn't hire a bodyman who brought his condo to work with him I told any applicant that he had enough room in his work bay for a standard box and that was all. a box like that is all ego imho.

Ya,, using it is useful.. But just like a $40,000 boat or a new pickup or compact tractor,, simply Enjoying it is a reward of ownership... I'm thinking there is a herd of GJ Members that would be happy using that box simply for Garage Art..:beer: :lol:

Enough material there to make a small comedy movie...

In the opening scene: The toolbox is seen shaking a little bit.
A toilet is heard flushing, and the locker door then opens.
Bob steps out, and says: "HI, I'm Bob".
Then a water leak runs onto the floor, and Bob's face gets that 'Oh ****' look.
The toolbox does a little more shaking, then crashes into a heap of individual boxes. Bob is bummed out, and places everything individually on Craig's List.
In the next scene, the Garage Journal Community is drinking a toast to their slightly damaged Craig's List scores.

That is 3 boxes tied together. I have a KRA1023 with a hutch and lockers on top, plus one side locker. It is full of tools, if I needed some more room I could clean it out and make quite a bit more room. IF I was going to buy anything else it would be another locker, but it would have to be a steal.

I never paid retail for any of my box, locker bought used off a guy that got hurt at work and was never able to work as a mechanic again. The hutch and upper lockers got on a screaming close out deal from a friend that was a dealer. He also gave me 20% off on the bottom box, then sold my old bottom box I bought used from a guy at Navel Air when they were closing up.

The same backward snobbery as usual when it comes to Snap-On and big toolboxes "I can't/would never use that much storage so obviously nobody else could possibly need that!"

I worked next to a guy with an identical setup to the original post (except the color) up until a couple months ago. While his drawers were not overflowing, he never borrowed a tool from anyone, and there were no empty drawers in the thing. One of the guys on my team now has a triple bank with a locker on both sides, and it is packed to the gills.
