I am setting up my 2 car attached garage 20x20 ish and I am getting ready to start bringing over some of my bigger items. I keep looking for good ideas on what do do with them. My goal is to have my "project" and the wifes durango in the garage.
There is some attic space above as well.
I want to store a folding engine crane (thinking of tearing down to store)
engine stand? store v8 under bench for now?
welder, drill press, etc...
I have seen some good ideas so far, but just wondering if there are some more "out of the box" ideas for the big stuff that doesnt get used to often.

best thing i've done is get to get everything possible off the floor, up on shelves, in the rafters.
the only things that are actually on the floor are toolboxes, bench, 55g barrel for steel, welding cart, and a 4ft bench for the wifes gardening stuff.
combination of salvaged & repurposed wall cabinets, both wood and steel, repurposed and homebuilt shelf brackets, and cheap OSB shelf boards.
my garage is small, 19X22, during the winter it gets cramped with the wifes saturn vue, my trail truck, and my harley, 2 set of boxes, ect ect.
once the weather gets nice, ie: no snow, she parks outside, and i have room to work.
i have 16" from the side of my s-10 blazer to my toolboxes, just enough room to open a drawer, approx 18" on the other side (for my cart) then the wifes vue, and just enough room to open the drivers side door.
front bumper of the s-10 is literally touching the work bench in the front, and i have about 18" in back to keep the snow blower handy.
i try to keep stuff that i dont use, as often, mobile and portable as i can.
small work stands for chop saw, bender, notcher, i can remove the tools, hang them up, put them on a shelf, or on the bench and move the stands into the basement for winter storage. i also store my pressure washer downstairs during the winter.

as soon as spring hits, (hopefully the s-10 will be able to move under it's own power by then), i'm gonna pull everything out (again) and rearrange the back wall, the way i'm set up now, i cant get to my bench :eyecrazy:
and right now it looks like a hurricane hit the place anyway :lol_hitti
