hey so i picked this up today because it looked interesting and the price was good for some of the things in the box everything in the box is WW and the box itself is also. i tried to do some research but i'm running into a brick wall except most of the things in my box are on alloy artifacts take a look and tell me what you think if any one is a collector and can give me more info that would be awesome. i got lots of square sockets and have no idea what they are for

Well if it hails from Worcester, Massachusetts we say Worcester "wista," "wussta," or "wusster" depending on where you live in Mass.

Nice set! Most sets of this vintage are in much worse condition.

The value is not easy to establish, but it might bring 40-60 from a collector, after you clean it all up carefully. Maybe more, maybe less. But cool, nonetheless.

One trick I have learned...if you plan to keep it, tell her we all said it was worth a couple of hun. But if you have to sell it, and if she will be present when you do...then that tactic won't work.

For the boxes, I like to degrease them in my solvent tank, or just use some solvent on a rag. When they are degreased pretty well, I wipe them dry, and allow them to sit for a while until they are thoroughly dry. Then I wipe a LIGHT film of lightweight oil on them. After allowing that to set for a day or so, I'll come back and wipe vigorously with a dry cloth, to remove any oil residue that I can. This seems to serve pretty well for keeping new rust away without leaving the box oily to the touch. And, it makes original paint shine nicely. But use caution around that original decal or stencil with the Walden Worcester logo.

For cleaning the tools...well, that subject has been well discussed on GJ, and I'm sure you know that anyway. Just search for some of those older threads. There are many terrific threads with great advice about cleaning rusty/greasy tools.

Nice haul!
