big wrenches

hey guys ive been thinking of getting some really big wrench's and came across what i believe to be a great deal wondering if anyone might have experience with these monster wrench's

For general use, cheap big wrenches are fine. Ever hold a USA made big wrench? They make the imports look like ignition wrenches

Thats true. I have used Armstrong, Wright, and Proto wrenches over 1'' and up to 2'' plus. They quite a bit stronger and better quality. So far for my personal tools I only have Blackhawks usa made for over 1''. For occasional use they would probably be fine. What do you need them for? Or would you just like to have them?

Many people have had great success with the Klutch brand jumbo/super jumbo wrenches from northern tool. Even the jumbo wrenches from harbor freight would be fine for you I am guessing. I plan to grab some of the klutch ones eventually myself. In addition I am and would suggest you look into finding used ones of the brands I mentioned as well.

Or could you get by with just a good adjustable wrench instead? Especially if its rarely needed? Western Forge makes a 24 in adjustable thats for sale on Harry Epstein I think its roughly 90-100 dollars. The jaw capacity should be 2 in/50 mm plus for even a cheap 24 in adjustable like HF or Northern tool. I know HF's 24in Adjustable is like 30 bucks might suit your needs.

I have northern tool and harbor freight large wrenches at work. They work fine as daily diesel tech tools

If one MATCO 50mm MCL50M2 50MM combination wrench is $208.85 how is it even possible that that whole set in only $159?

It says these cheap ones are made from plain old fashioned STEEL, not even chrome vanadium.

I bought mine when I worked at a John Deere dealer. I got a couple of NOS SK big wrenches dirt cheap and then got a couple from Epstein's for a complete set up to 2". As for the klutch wrenches, they are probably the best import big combo I have seen. I'd be willing to buy those if I didn't already have some. I priced out the SK set from 1 5/8 to 2", over a grand. I was able to piece my set together for around $300.

I have a set of jumbo SAE angle wrenches that I picked up from Norther Tool a couple years ago. 1 3/8-2'' and have no complaints.

i have a set of jumbo's from northern 1''-2 1/2'' picked them up about 3 years ago so far no issues but they don't get used every day right now, also have a set of big metric's from grainger so far their holding up.

I have a fair amount of larger size wrenches and sockets in northern tool brand. have been very good for me. just picked up the klutch brand long reach metric combos. I like these as well. no experience with the irontron brand.
