For almost 30 years, 4 of us get together every Thursday night and do woodcarving. Here's our latest woodcarving. each of us carved the various legs and such, and combined it at the end... Nope, we have no idea what to do with it now.

Awesome project!

Details are always welcome. What type of wood(s) were used? What tools were employed? How was the finish achieved?

Show off some of your other projects as well! You guys have mad skills.

We always use basswood to carve. Good old fashioned chizels and mallets.
Over the years we've done lots of projects.... Here's a few.

Awsome creative work, always wanted to try carving, just wasn't very good at it, I do have an idea, take it to the Kansas Flint Hills, sit it on top of one of those rock fence poles, those ranchers would have a fit. The grasshopper plaque is back, would make national news. Seriously that is awsome work.

Years ago I had to go with a contractor friend to pick up some supplies. My wife asked me to stop at a store on the way...she wanted a pattern to make doll clothes.
At the checkout counter the girl said to me "Uhhh...so you make doll clothes???".
My friend walks over ( he's a big burly guy)..."yes! We both do it...but we curse and smoke cigars the whole time".[emoji38]

Sounds like a TV show! I cant imagine all of the worlds problems you guys have solved over the past 3 decades. You must have a pretty solid group of guys there..the wood working is probably the easy part!

We've gone through kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. Illness, death , laughter, joy, etc. We like to think of it as lives well lived...
I have the best friends anyone could ever hope for... And make no mistake about it... I AM GRATEFUL.
