My BIL got a 32' RV for nothing a year or so back, guy that had just wanted it gone. Only about 35,000 miles on it and worn but clean, frame is solid, can still the factory black paint on most of it. Its a late 70s Class-A RV mounted on a GMC P30 chassis that had a 455 V8 in it, but no more. My BIL had also bought a retired school bus to get the Cummins 6BT diesel. He teamed that up with a Allison 1000 series automatic and now both are in the chassis. He's altered the fuel pump and some other changes to get a good bit more diesel grunt out of it. I was at his place yesterday to check out the power steering/Hyd brakes, and trans cooler hoses to plan out the hoses he'll need for everything. He's done the 455/trans removal and the 6BT/Allison installation all by himself and has done good work fabbing up engine/trans mounts. All this done alongside his garage/shop on a side alley. He's on Facebook as "Scott's Madness" RV Cummins Swap.

With that diesel pumped up to well over stock horsepower, and making close to 1800 ft=lb of torque out of the transmission, that RV should move along much better than it did with the gas 455 it had for power before. But it will need an exterior makeover:

Hmm,.....giant flame paint job? Nah. Graphics are really faded. The entire nose is fiberglass, sides are in good shape. Dark colors would be cool, but not cool for comfort. Go with wider tires on polished aluminum wheels up front, and polished SS wheel simulators in the back.

he should offer drawings. or even made up, of any mounts or adaptors he made for the power line swap

that chassis was popular and the engine/trans is an easy to find combo

I would guess there would be a market for something that would make the swap easier for others
