Bigger than the Eastwood scroll

I figured it would be a matter of time before something similar to the Eastwood started showing up. Several members commented they wanted sonething a little bigger. I just came across the Apache, made in Canada. I realize a screw is not exacly like a scroll but the functional similarities are there. Very low noise level horizontal tank. Shrouded pump and motor. The Apache is 5hp/60 gal/16 cfm vs 12cfm on the Eastwood. Continuous duty, optional refrefrigerator dryer on board. for automotive work $3200 US, add another grand for the dryer. IT IS NOT MADE IN CHINA. It is not on wheels. Too big? Have no info on the company.

Thanks for pointing this out. Supposedly scrolls are more expensive than screw compressors and are even quieter, but they generate hotter air (not sure if this is true). I don't think anyone other than Eastwood is selling a scroll compressor that a normal homeowner could afford.

Cool that alternatives to loud piston compressors are finally dropping to reasonable prices.

A couple of years ago I did a design for a welding and machine shop addition at a vo-tech college. We did a duplex 5 horsepower screw compressor with a refrigerate dryer. I don't recall the brand installed but with the unit running you could have a normal conversation standing next to it. You did not even notice any noise.
Back in April I was at Charlotte auto fair and there was a compressor there that was either made in Germany or Sweden that had some really low noise levels. I need to find the info on these and see what type they were. I recall the 5 horsepower being the smallest they had going up into several hundred horsepower

The Chinese are definitely figuring it out and they can make this stuff for next to nothing. One of these is probably the Eastwood model:

Another screw compressor you guys might want to look at if you're in the market for one is the 10 HP GS compressor, I believe it sells for $2999 base and can be configured for 1 or 3 phase and different voltages. They also offer a VSD option but that looked like it jumped the price up considerably. I'd post a link but I apparently don't have enough posts on the forum to do so, sorry.

they dont mention cfm and are not very clear on tech specs

they are chinese
