Posting multiple pictures in one post would be great, but the site only uploads one picture per post from mobile devices, unless you're linking to a third party host.

I used to ask the same thing, then I read a bunch of his posts. This entire thing seems like a long term troll job.

There are plenty of deals out there, you just need to spend the time looking/asking. This young man seems simply excited about tools (who isn't :D) and spends the time on the hunt. But, who knows..........

Man you guys are hard on this dude !
At least you know have s way to change the oil in the truck.
Buy the pullers, they are handy. Those are big metric wrenches. Sometimes those big sizes come in handy, but I use an adjustable b/c the need doesn't always match the wrench.

Don't buy stuff just because it's snap on. If you need it or could use it, that's one thing. You can find a set at HF they is complete and will serve your needs.

He told me all the stuff sold already! Weird because he never even had them listed

Those pullers at that price were a real good deal, especially with the snappy boxes. My suggestion would be when you find tools at a real good price buy them when you can and stop trying to knock the guy down to his knees. You are going to miss out on a lot of good deals trying to dicker on everything.

He had a snap-on timing light listed and when the guy came for that he saw the other stuff and bought it! I am new to this and i didn't know they were that good of a deal! How good of a deal were they how much were they worth?

Why do people always assume things are stolen because they are bought really cheap? I've gotten sooo many deals like this off craigslist, eBay, etc. The difference is we buy stuff when we see a deal, not when we need it and pay full price. Check out this score I got today for $77. Husky chain saw, trigger is broken - $35. Full acetylene tank, hose and tip - $40. Taiwan finger ratchet $1 Irwin vice grips $1. Best of all, it was from a Pawn shop!!!!

New trigger cost $2.16 its already on the way and I have numerous bar and chain setups for it. Can't beat $37.16 for a perfectly working chainsaw.

Wow i scored on some of these pieces the snap-on 6 in 1 screwdriver is selling for over $100 on ebay and this stud puller is selling for over $20

Just remember, it isn't money in the bank until you sell it. Otherwise, it's only worth what you paid for it at the time. Its like the stock market, it doesn't matter if the market goes up or down on any given day, you only make or lose money when you cash out. Few people realize this, which is why they lose their shirts when they panic and drop their stocks.

Don't just look at one eBay listing to set your prices, auction fever could have played a hand on the price. Look at several sold listings and average the prices to get your number.

That said, it's always good to know the going prices so you can recognize a good deal when it comes along or pass if the math doesn't work out.

Please stop this. Seriously.

Agreed...

Stop what sharing my new tool purchases? I thought that this what what this forum is all about?

Continue to share your tool purchases, but stop posting with excessive bragging and self-satisfaction over the prices you pay.

This is a great example of your constant boasting. It makes you come across as a small (minded, endowed, and/or ???) individual.

Yep, they're rough on him. I like to see his enthusiasm. It's easy to misread someone's enthusiasm as arrogance/boasting in a forum.

I say if you can find a good brand tool for the same price or less than what HF wants for it, you're 5x ahead of the game. Especially when you go to use the tool and it works.

Half the point of this forum is to brag and hope for a "you ****". For some reason, every time this guy posts everybody jumps down his throat. Is he stealing these deals out from some of you, or is he using his baby food budget to buy these tools, or am I missing something.

Anyway OP, great score.

From some of the posters I take it this guy doesn't appear to have the cash to fix his vehicle, but is spending money like mad on Craigslist. But I don't know...

Is he the guy from last month with the mini van, no tools, and trying to do a bunch of repairs on it without jackstands? Was saying how he didnt have any money to pay for some repair so was going to do it himself?

Then recently hes plastering up threads on his craigslist scores left and right?

Thats who I keep thinking he is.

Ignore this if I am wrong.

EDIT: after some searching, I think I have two different posters mixed up

He might make part of his income by flipping? Then maybe he can afford to fix his car. I think he said he's posting some of it in the classified on GJ?

When I was a kid, one of my dad's friends made a living by flipping. That was before the internet. He'd fix up/detail a car and then sell it for double the money, and his hot German wife would flip furniture/antiques, etc. out of the garage.

Maybe so but I was just answering the question. I couldn't care less about what he dies with his money.

I like the kid's enthusiasm. To me, it doesn't seem like he's boasting. He seems like he's having a great time finding these deals. It's his money - if he wants to spend it on tools and has to walk to work/school, that's his choice. Who among us hasn't spent money on things we couldn't afford at one time or another?

I thought one of the points of this forum was showing off bargains we scoop up.

Cody keep it up. Oh and "you ****".

jd 1138, brownsmustang, Clemson13 - You guys realize he can read your posts, right? You're talking about him like he's not here. Instead of assuming this, that and the other thing, why not just ask him? I don't think he's taking a taxi to pick up truck loads of tools. Oh excuse me. Thecody59, are you taking a taxi to pick up all these tools? It has been said, in so many words - "you have a broke down vehicle and instead of fixing it, you keep wasting money on tools you'll never use." Whats the real story?

BTW - You do ****! Nice job. That's a play right out of my playbook. Show up for one thing, leave with every thing.

We have a few cars in my family right now. I drive my moms car when i can and i drive the truck only when i have too. I wouldn't say wasting money because i am going to try to get a job starting out as a lube tech soon and work my way up to a mechanic. The truck is going to be a very expensive fix so me spending $140 on tools won't do anything for the truck right now.

Plus i didn't plan on buying these tools at all all i went for was a snap-on box for $5. When i saw all the snap-on stuff he had and what he was asking for it i would of been a idiot to walk away from it.

Of course I know he can see my posts. Have I said anything derogatory? A poster asked why so many were critical of the op so I answered what I thought. Again I dont care what he does with his money.

It would have put you 140$ closer to fixing the truck.....

Ok now I understand what everyone is talking about. Ya $140 won't do anything for the truck, but add the $120 you spent the other day, plus whatever else I haven't seen you post and the truck would be fixed. Not to mention a lube tech doesn't need 1/2 the stuff you've purchased, but it's your money. You're fortunate to have your mom's car. When I was in high school I bought a truck and spent all my extra cash on a lift kit and 33" tires. I did burnouts and went offroading, until the rear end blew. No more offroading. No more driving around picking up chicks. No more driving to school. Took the school bus for almost 2 months my senior year. My parents drove me to work and that was it. That was one of the best things they ever did for me. I grew up a little after that. I started saving up money to fix it. Then I fixed it myself and never beat on it again. I learned about priorities and responsibility. When you add up all the money you've spent, you could have done a lot of other stuff besides fill your garage with tools.

Well said gdoctor, my old man wouldnt let me touch his cars when i was in school. I had to ride my bike to work everyday after school until i saved up enough to buy my first vehicle for 1000 bucks, and pay my insurance and all the other costs involved. At the end of the week, there was barely enough money to put gas in it. Haha.

The rule in my grandparents house was - you could get your license as soon as you could pass the test, but you weren't allowed to own a car until you had a HS diploma. My mother bought a car 6mos before graduating and had to watch her mother drive it when dropping her off at work. The only thing that kept me from dropping out of school was the thought of not having my own car.

Yep same in my family, my parents didn't let my brother and me have cars until we graduated from high school.
