I have a 19x23 garage and bike storage is a bit of an issue. I'm tired of dodging around them. Most bike storage I see has the bikes hanging down. I'd rather have them flat up against the trusses. Has anyone done something like that? How did you accomplish it?

You could use the basic J hooks to hang it upside down by the wheels, then rig a rope/pully to the seat or top tube to pull it flat. (make sure you pull against the back of the J not the open part)

I bought a couple of bike systems from Sears. They have a pair of adjustable hooks for the handlebars and the seat. You just hook them and pull the line. They are self locking. The only problem with them is that there is so much extra line you have to coil around the supplied cleat. My ceiling is about 14' so if yours is shorter, you could cut off alot of the excess. I will take some pics in a few.
