Anyone installed one of these? Effective? A little pricey. The basic U-shape gasket is available for much less. Want to keep weather, mice, snakes, etc. out.

Thanks!

I have. Does it help with weather stripping? A little but nothing more. Get the U shaped gasket and you’d be better off. After installing there are still plenty of gaps around areas of the door.

I've been working on insulation, then weather-stripping my bilcos and found McMaster to have almost too many choices of product for this.

I wouldn't want someone elses kit (But a link would be appreciated) because it was built to a price point and theres no rocket surgery going on here so I know I can do it better and probably cheaper, though mostly better is my goal.

My doors lead to a finished basement and we have a wood burning insert down there that we heat the house with in the winter. It is off to the end in one of my workrooms and adjacent to the laundry room (Another of my work rooms) so insulating and sealing will benefit us year round as this area gets hot/humid in the summer.

We have a good insulated door to bilco entry, and basement is ICF, so pretty decent. It's more critters and dirt blowing in. Probably small return on investment.

Thank you!
