Billings & Spencer Forged Flathead

Hello guys! I was wondering if any information was available here that my searches were not finding.

I have this great B&S screwdriver that I use whenever I can, but I am curious to learn more about its age if possible.

Alloy artifacts has a lot of information on Billings and Spencer. I like their old wrenches. One of the only tools I collect.

It's hard to tell, because they made that screwdriver - Model P, in three different lengths - from their inception right up through 1949, at least. They also made a heavy duty machinists' version. Forged from carbon steel, that fluted handle was designed to be turned with a wrench when necessary.
