Seems like maybe it's time to start a thread...

What we have is a 24' deep, 28' wide, block garage with a small out room on the left side.

The previous owner created "scissor trusses" out of the original trusses to allow for an "upstairs" room. I'll be reenforcing them, but as we have no snow load to worry about, and they haven't shifted a bit in the 3 years we've been here, I don't think they're an issue.

I did pull down his walls and ceiling to create one big garage room. Where you see the entrance door is actually a blocked up roll up door area I'll be pulling down.

I put up outer walls, had an 100amp sub brought in from the main panel (in the house), and put up insulation and beadboard.

Around the time I started painting this little project, my father informed me he and my mom would be moving from their home in North Carolina to Florida. I would therefore need to come get his and our tools, along with his 4-post lift.

In the meantime, I worked on making the little room off the side into a storage and compressor room.

Shortly thereafter, I brought home a full UHaul of "stuff." I also built shelves at the back of the garage to handle larger storage items.

I closed off the right side roll up door with a set of barn doors wide enough to allow easy movement of motorcycles and equipment.

I've also been hard at work removing some of the vegetation from around the garage.

I opened up the main garage door area.

I put the three side cabinets I had together on a stand with wheels to make a paint storage locker

And, as you can see, the lift is now together and functional

And, going through boxes, etc, I have a large collection of who-knows-what taking over the bench!

And now we're up to date!

Progress, until very recently, has been quite slow due to two main factors. The first has been expenses; we've been paying off many different things and finally have only a house payment and the loan we took for the roof and HVAC system. That's it. And with everything being paid off, I now have more income to put toward such projects.

The other issue is headaches. I have been a migraineur since 4th grade, with their getting more and more frequent throughout the years. I've had chronic migraines (more than 15 a month) for the last ten years or more). Until now.

Two and a half months ago, my doctor put me on a monoclonal antibody that targets a cell believed to instigate migraines. Since taking my first shot, I have had three, and in the last 60 days, none.

I also get severe tension headaches (don't try this at home, I'm what you might call a professional), but for the most part I have these under control. I actually have a tension headache right now, thus I'm messing around on the computer and not out in the garage.

More interestingly, as it comes back to the migraines, there is a portion of a migraine called the prodrome. This is the "before the pain" part of a migraine, and it can last for 24 hours or more. One of the more common prodrome symptoms is fatigue.

I now think I have been spending a good bit, if not most, of my time in prodrome. The amount of energy I have is unbelievable! I'd say I feel like I'm 25 again, but I'm not sure I felt like I was 25 when I was 25!

The next steps are to get the **** put away, swap some stuff into and out of storage, then finish the walls and paint. After, I'll insulate the ceiling and install my ceiling tiles.
