I'm a bike guy. We don't carry backpacks. Anything more than a hydration pack will destroy your shoulders in no time.
Looks like the 'tool roll' was designed for flash not function. No ratchet handle, no pliers, or screwdrivers, not even just an adjustable wrench. Just a whole set of sockets and a whole set of combination wrenches.

I keep a box in the wife's DD.
And once in a while, I put together a soft side bag or small box for salvage yarding.
I am not even a fan of having duplicates.
Recently, I replaced my cycling-to-work backpack with a new one. It is 40L or so.
Between all my thoughts, the one thing that stands out as valuable is the tall extension of the main compartment. But there are lots of camping packs that have similar ability.
The tool org. factor seems lost to me; if I have to take it off to access the tools, it's not a stretch to remove a box or roll. Unless I was on an elevated job working out of a buddy's tool backpack, I am not finding this to be my next storage solution.

This isn't designed to be a backpack. It's meant to mount to "sissy bars" though it does have a shoulder strap to carry around when you dismount.
Uhh, I don't think the tools are included.....
I don't let sissy's on my bike, so I have no where to mount this, but do like the idea. Try sticking 9 loose sockets, 7 wrenches, ratchet, etc, along with extra clothes, glasses, drinks, etc in one large compartment and finding the one needed 1/2" socket without dumping the entire contents.

I have seen those bags in person and they are very well thought out and seems to be well constructed.
Yeah, I should have made myself more clear. I know tools aren't included. My point was, it looks like it was designed around a set of sockets and a set of combination wrenches, with a little zippered pouch for extras. Any attempt to fill it with a different selection of tools will just be a compromise.
I use a tool roll. I take along the tools that I'm pretty sure would be most useful during a breakdown. A few sockets, a ratchet handle and an extension. A few combination wrenches, cuppla screwdrivers, pliers and cutters, a flashlight, a crescent, maybe a small hammer, a handful of zip ties and gorilla tape wrapped around a pencil. Common stuff that will get me out of a jam.
My tool roll accommodates the stuff I choose and also provides a little clean space to keep track of small parts during a road repair. Plus, it rolls up into a neat bundle that I can store easily and conveniently.

You have an ENTIRE BAG to fit the other tools....
The socket and wrench organizers are there to maximize storage and make the duplicate items easier to find. Its basically an added bonus when compared to past versions of the same style bag. This wasn't designed to be a tool holder, with extra space for travel gear. Its a travel bag, with an extra tool storage section.

Oh, well then I better leave my backpack home today on my way to San Antonio (2:45 @159 mi)
I only ride 15-20k street miles a year on a verity of bikes from VTR1000F to DRZ485SM and wear a Kelty Redwing50 most every one of those street miles.
When I did my Iron **** from Central Texas to Indianapolis that was 1250 miles in 23 hours non stop with a back pack on...
I know tons of riders that wear back packs as well. If you don't, I get that, many don't... Do what works for you...but what works for a lot of riders is wearing a backpack.

I find select tools taking on long distant rides works well for me by distributing the load.
I have a tool tube under the seat, some tools go in my backpack, if its a multi day ride or longer distance away from home, I will have a tank bag and some tools go in that as well.
I do service on my training fleet of 92 bikes at 5 different locations and have a "away" road box.
My old case, stolen last year.

Don't get the 'tools in foam' usage though. Seems massively wasteful in terms of space/volume. I bet 3,4 rolls inside a foam-less hard case will get 2x the number of tools...... Does look good though.

Its not for protection, though it does that in all weather and rough handling.
Its mainly for loss prevention.
Each tool has a foamed space, each tool space is quickly identified as filled or not.
Loose a few snap on tools on a job site and you'll understand.
I don't need every tool I own on the road doing the specific jobs I do, just select tools, and the case is fuller now then in that pic...
You are of course correct, I can fit more tools in a non foamed box, you can also loose more tools that way as well.

I have this bag for my panhead chopper, I have had several travel bags this is the first with built in tool holders, it carrys my tent, sleeping bag, sleep roll, small amount of clothes, toiletries, spare parts and my tools, it’s easy acess for all of that and makes daily unpacking and repacking much more pleasant. And it has a hidden pouch to pull out a fitted rain cover for those really bad rain storms. I can see my self tossing this in one of my old trucks for a road trip as well
