Binks 310-14 Value??

I had an old Binks 310-14 air compressor in my basement for the last 40+ years. Never used it after I bought it. I painted it when I first bought it and put wheels on it and rolled it into my basement where it sat in a corner. Cleaning up my basement so it needs to go. Trying to determine a price and how original it is.
Here are the spec I can find on it from labels.

I cleaned it up and plugged it in after verifying the wiring. It pumped up to 165 lbs before the pressure switch shut down. I adjusted the motor slightly since it was mis-aligned. It has a couple of very small air leaks on the compression fittings (ones near the bottom of the pump) going to the gauge. I sprayed water on them and could still see a few small bubbles even after I cleaned the fittings. Other than that it appears to work well and no real leaks. Holds air nicely.
Trying to determine what it should reasonably sell for before I get rid of it. Need the room in my basement.

Nice old piece of iron but, in my opinion and experience selling several old compressors, the value of that unit isn't great. A 75 year old tank may, as it should, give some buyers pause. If you ask more than $100 you'll likely be waiting a while to sell. Even at that price you may be waiting longer than you want for a buyer to appear.

I was thinking same thing whatever value would likely only have been collector value and I think much of that vanished with the paint job. Believe that may be a quincy pump which are generally very good but probably needs to be restored. I personally wouldn’t trust 75 year old tank unless it was hydro tested. Maybe $100?

I wouldn't go $100... but yea... value... about $100 as-is...

I would put a bore scope into the tank to evaluate the rust. I would also like to know ... why was it painted???

It was painted more than 40+ years ago. Only a tiny amount of water came out when it pumped up. Pump is fine and has no leaks and holds air so I doubt it needs a rebuild. I will ask aroung $150 since it held 150 overnight. Not going to remove the end caps to do a bore scope.

Garage Journal isn't an appraisal site, but I will at least agree with the above. It looks terrible and whatever you get, you'd have gotten more if not for that paint job.

Personally, I think it would be worth more if you used it for a while so it could redevelop some patina. At least it has some of the original labels, though.

Looks like an Earl Scheib paint job applied to an old car to hide something.

$100 is a fair price. Not much of a market for a compressor that old, and the market that’s there would likely prefer the original paint. Sort of like antique furniture.
