I bought this binks air compressor a few years ago. I'm trying to find some more information on it. Doesnt seem to be much out there from searching model numbers.

I'm pretty sure it's a quincy pump. I have a small version of this one that I plan on using in my shop. This is a model 255-27. Quincy has very little information on these beside a parts book.

Does anyone know anything about the Wisconsin engine it? Parts seem pretty scarce for them also. Pretty sure there is a busted rod on one cylinder. Can hear something knocking around in there.

What is the clicking noise that comes from the distributor area on the Wisconsin TJD? Happens at tdc on every piston stroke.

If it has a WICO magneto, it could be inside that. Those have a mechanism on the drive cup at the base that winds up and snaps to momentarily increase the speed of the magnetic pole in order to improve low RPM ignition output. If it is that, there may be nothing wrong at all, it is just how that unit is designed. A friend of mine is the sole manufacturer of new WICO mags and I machine the new housings, as well as many of the parts for them here at work. Pretty sure many Wisconsin engines used their parts.

You were right the snapping noise is coming from the magneto. I have it running now
I had to free up a stuck valve and clean the points. But it runs pretty good now.

Those Wisconsin engines were really good units. Not your average homeowner type stuff, much more made for industrial, long term use. Cool Machine. If you need ignition parts for it, Rich at Standard Magneto can help.
