Birmingham Garage with Attached Home

My wife and I are looking around for a new home that is single-level with a basement and detached garage. Have not found what we are looking for yet, and will likely wind up buying the house/lot we want then building a garage. But we ran across this one in the Cahaba Heights area of Birmingham that someone obviously put a lot of work and pride into the garage. Perhaps it is a member here, if not they should be. Anyhow, here are the pics.

Pocket change compared to homes in L.A. - $323,000 list price. I would expect it to sell for less than $300k.

I'm not fond of the colors either. I was just impressed with the amount of work someone put into this garage, then had to sell it. I'm sure there is a story behind it.

If it had a basement, did not have the pool and the house was a little newer (was built in 1978), we would be considering it.
