Okay, so my birthday is coming up. My family wants to know what I would like for a gift. Honestly, I have no idea! :headscrat I buy what I need when I need it or want it. I'm asking you for some help here.

You may know I'm a Craftsman guy. I like the tools, the quality and the warranty. I have lots of stuff. A whole roll away full of stuff at that! What tools would make a great addition to my box?

I'm a weekend warrior/collector in case that matters!

I thought you are asking a gift idea for your significant other.

Considering that you are a Craftsman guy, my guess is that you would like a set of blue titanium thin-profile 3-pc ratchets plus a $200 Sears gift card.

How about some of the specialty things fro Craftsman Professional???? You know... the Sears.com or "catalog only" stuff???

Might be worth your while to stop by Sear, grab a Craftsman tool catalog and a sharpie, and start circling things....

Already have 2 sets of the 80th anniversary ratchets. $200 card isn't a bad suggestion. I hate birthdays. Not because I'm getting older, but because my family INSISTS on buying me stuff.

Seems to me the only one getting a "gift" out of a lot of this type of purchase is the store. I buy what I want, when its on sale etc.

When your 10 years old and have no way to get a nice bicycle on your own, wow a gift of one is real special, but being 50 and circling things in the Craftsmen catalog that you don't want badly enough to buy anyway is sad.

Sorry if I sound whiny... geez. My Parents get pissed if I don't give them a list. Sorry your family doesn't have this tradition. I could really care less and have told them on every occasion that I don't want a gift. Still they request one. I figured that I could get something I could add to the collection that won't cost them an arm and a leg. Just by posting this I figured you could see my total lack of effort. I guess not.

Never mind.

Send these to your parents:

1) A set of Snap on screwdrivers. I'm also a Craftsman guy, but Craftsman screwdrivers (pro series included) are totally ****.

2) A Snap on 3/8" dr long flex-head ratchet.

3) A SK 3/8" dr roto ratchet.

4) A Snap on 1/2" dr breaker bar.

5) A set of SK combination wrenches.

These are about $60-$150 each and all make good gifts.

This maybe a very bad suggestion, but a suggestion none the less. I would say tell your parents and your family to join together and buy you a makita, Milwaukee, or snap on 1/2 cordless impact. It is very handy and makes life a lot easier.

Even if you have a air compressor it is still nice to have a cordless impact. Never know when someone has a flat on the side of the road.

How about a Snap On F80, or a variant of? Seriously...... I'm definitely a Craftsman kinda guy myself, and always will be. I'm far from being a "pro-wrencher", so Craftsman stuff is definitely good enough for what I use it for. But getting an F80 (tip from board members about a good buy on Ebay) was an eye opener.

Better yet, since you don't have any real tool needs you can think of, how about telling them to donate $s to the presidental candidate of your choice...:lol_hitti:beer:

Ratchets! Can never have enough ratchets! Check out the Craftsman catalog for some flex, shorty or longer ratchets or how about a set of thread chasers?

I don't do birthdays.

If I make it through the day without anyone reminding me it's my birthday, that's the perfect gift.

How about a nice set of cordless tools?

Everyone can always use a new set of drawers. These have a toolbelt attached.

Our Snap On guy sells socks - something like $5 a pair. Nice heavy cotton.... thinking of getting me some....

Thread chasers are a FANTASTIC idea if you don't already have them!

I always tell my family I only want Sears gift cards. You can use them online to get the stuff you cant get in the store...
