Hey guys,

My birthday is coming up soon, and my family asks me to let them know what I want, and I have a few things in mind, but still need a couple more. Here are the things I want:

Mountain Double Flex http://www.tooltopia.com/mountain-...se&utm_campaign=sc&scpid=7&scid=scsho6823022 MTNRM6

Craftsman Impact Wrench http://m.sears.com/craftsman-c3-189-8221-heavy-duty-impact-wrench-kit/p-00945195000P

Motive Power Bleeder https://motiveproducts.3dcartstores.com/mobile/home.asp#page-27

These are the tools that I don't need immediately, but would love to have. I like to hear your suggestions!!

Thanks,

It's kind of hard to toss out suggestions without knowing what you don't have or might want to upgrade in

But I like knipex and good ratchets

Sorry about the lack of info. I am a DIY garage mechanic. I have all the basic ratchets, sockets, basic plier set, set of long reach pliers, combination wrenches, standard length ratcheting wrenches, and other basic tools like hammers, etc.

I am looking for upgrades that will make some jobs easier, for example cordless impact driver/wrench, long wrenches, etc., things that are considered not critical for a home mechanic but nice to have.

Probably around $100, plus minus $40. I don't have any cordless tools yet. I was actually looking into the Ryobi cordless system and getting a Ryobi impact wrench for now, but I'll have to buy separate batteries, that's why the Craftsman C3 Heavy Duty seems attractive with battery and charger included.

Here's something you may not thought of.... have them go out and buy an equivalent amount in what they would spend on your birthday present in toys and donate them to 'Toys-for-Tots' --

You already know what you want in tools and can buy your own tools. Why not give a little back to the kids in your community?

I think a quality set of flare nut wrenches are a good addition for a home mechanic. Or a nice flex head ratchet. I asked my family for a manual impact driver for Christmas since I don't have one and they never know what to get me.

Just a few ideas.

LOL!

No. We're just at different points in our lives.

If there's something I want I just go out an buy it - wife is the same way. We do exchange gifts, but they are things like movies, books, candy, etc. We both enjoy a bunch of small junk, rather than just a couple of big presents. Our real enjoyment comes this time of year from going to Target or KMart, walking up to the layaway department and asking for layaways that are mostly toys that have only have a few payments left and we pay them off.... most have less than $200 left on their bill, so it really doesn't take much and you can easily help 10-12 families have a little nicer Christmas season.
