I've got a birthday coming up and my XYL has been asking me for 2 weeks
what I want for my birthday. We've been married almost 40 years so we
quit buying surprise gifts a long time ago, or for that matter very expensive
gifts. Most of the time if we want something we just go buy it
Last night I finally broke down and told her there were a couple tools I
needed for the workshop so if she wanted to we could go shopping.
We headed out this afternoon, she had already said she wanted to take
me to my favorite fishcamp for my birthday dinner so we went out entending
to wind up headed toward dinner.
The first stop was Lowe's, beside some spray paint I needed for a current
antique radio restoration they didn't have the tool I was looking for,
so the bext stop was Wood Crafters. There she (me really, I used my debit
card) a Kregg pocket screw kit, I'd been wanting one for a while.
Next we headed for HF (OK stop rolling your eyes, I know most of you guys
hate HF) there I picked out a 21 degree framing nailer and a box of nails.
I've got a couple building projects and me smaller air nailers won't do
any good with 2X4s.
I'm just a piddler so I don't need professional grade air tools.
After HF was whole flounder at Twin Tops fish camp, we first started going
there about 50 years ago, the flounder was wonderful, actually what
come after "wonderful? It was amazing, I'm still full
I just noticed that the clock on the cable box says it's midnight 30 so it's
"Happy Birthday to me".
Tomorrow I get to unpack and try out the new tools.
I made the mistake of showing the pix someone posted the other day
of an xray showing a nail from an air gun through a finger, now she's
afraid I'll shoot myself with my birthday present...
