well my birthday is today and i got some good tools.

Craftsman Pro metric flare nut wrenches.
Craftsman Pro metric offset box wrenches
Hansen 1/4 metric socket tray- which completes my set for my 6 point sockets

plus a couple hundred bucks which i am thinking of using for a snap on 3/8 ratchet and the SAE flare nut wrenches and offset boxes:bounce:

it would be my first real snappy tool, besides my speeder wrench:thumbup:

That's all good stuff...

I, for one, would use the money, though, to get the Crafstman Pro SAE offset boxes. use the money for other things from Snap on. Those Cman Pro wrenches are plenty good, and I am not certain that the Snap on offset box wrenches will be any better than the Craftsman Pro.

Mess around with your metric ones... I think you'll see what i mean.

I agree on the box wrenches. I have a set of craftsman pro box wrenches and they work great. Stick with the snap-on flare nut wrenches if you use them. I just a got a used set in almost new condition off ebay for about $50 shipped.

ah i wasnt very clear, i did mean i would buy the matching Cman pro offset boxes and flare nut wrenches.:thumbup: so far i really like the feel of the offset boxes. it makes me want to replace all my raised panels with a set of the Pros.

For the amount i use my tools right now Craftsman works for me, but i want a good ratchet that will last me so im thinking snap on for that.


Oh and Cat, you've got a few years on me, im 7-26-88

Snap On F80. Ultimate go-to ratchet. :thumbup:

Oh, and knowing what I know now... I would get the FX 80 as my main ratchet. Long handle, lockable and flex head if you need it.

The 80th are the only ones in production now, besides the round heads. Just the regular F80 is nice. I also like the FLF80 flex-head. If you have the money, I would just get the 3 pc. set that has the regular, long, and flex-head ratchets.

Happy birthday. Nice tools. Would've been my choice as well.

As for the average, it looks like it may be lower than you think. March of '89 here, youngest so far.:)

Yeah, I just looked through the newest Snap-On catalog. Doesn't look like they are selling the set anymore. In an older catalog, the part no. was RAT803A. Anyways, if you bought the 3 ratchets separately it wouldn't cost anymore or less than the set. Snap-On sets are the total of the individual components.

Happy BDAY!!! I would also recommend the Snapon screwdrivers if you don't have some already; or the williams hard handle are a great value!

So my girlfriend surprised me today for my bday and took me to a car show (1975 and older) which was pretty sweet. Then she took me to the Towe Auto Museum here in Sacramento which for some reason i had never even heard of! I took a few pictures of Some of the old tools they had on display, i might start up a new thread with the pics.



BTW I ordered an FL80 today, man im excited!!!

and she has more plans for tomorrow! holy cow i'm a lucky guy this weekend.

The down side is you may have to one up her with plans,gifts etc. on her birthday! :wtf:

I own FLF80, FL80, and FKF80.... i love it and i had no reason why i need the F80 so i dont own F80... i used a lot of FLF80, FL80, and FKF80 a lot!!! it still work as strong even i tried to test it so i can see if it will break or not... it is never will break... but it may be worn soon... anyone did have it rebuild it??? i maybe need it...
