Who makes the best COMPLETE bit socket set?

Would like torx and hex at a minimum. Snap on has a pretty nice set... for $700 :lol_hitti

Everything else I've managed to find you would need to buy separate sets to make what I consider would be a "complete" set.

I don't use hex very much and don't even own a set of hex bit sockets. I just don't run into hex very often in a bodyshop. I do however use Torx a lot. I have no name, Harbor Freight, Craftsman, and Snap-On Torx sets. don't waste your money on anyone but Snap-On's Torx bit sockets. I have broke more Torx sockets than any other tool. The Craftsman Torx is absolute garbage, while other ones will twist before breaking, the Cmans shear off with no warning. The HF is better. My HF tamper-proof set performs just fine as most tamper proof fasteners I have encountered are not terrible tight.

If looking at Snap-On get set #209EFTXBY. This is a 9-piece set of the gold bit guys. I have not busted one yet. Comes with T15-T25 in 1/4" and T27-T55 in 3/8". They are about $220 and worth every penny.

I have the snap on set you mention but didn't pay anywhere in the vicinity of retail for it, otherwise I wouldn't have it lol. Very nice complete set but the reason it's so expensive is that snap on charges "per piece" and there is no such thing as a "set" price with them. If you are patient, they can be had on eBay for 1/3 -1/2 of retail. I do hear Cornwell has a really nice set. I think they're re-branded VIM but they can also be had on eBay for a decent price.

I can can't say crapsmans are total junk because I've been using them for a year and a half and my T50 is still going strong. It might help that i use a lot of heat on loctite'd fasteners and soak ford bed bolts with WD or PB ASAP.
A big drawback is the length, if they were as short a snaps and macs, they would be more better. They **** to remove seats and seatbelts.
I plan on buying snap on bit sockets but only large sizes.

Ford bed bolts are what murder my Torx bit sockets. That setup is absolutely retarded, thanks Ford.

I've got a fairly extensive range of bits, so for most stuff I just use one of those little "bit adapters" for my 1/4" ratchet.

It's a pretty economical way to do it, except that this only gets me up to about 8mm in hex and T45 in torx. For anything bigger I'll buy an individual bit socket. So far though the only one I've needed is a 10mm hex.
