I use my SO ratcheting stubby all the time. I currently pair it with some random wiha set. Has anyone figured out a good case/bitholder solution for the SO screwdriver?

In a perfect world there's a small case that fits the SO and 10-20 bits.

When Snap On first introduced the short ratcheting bit driver (I assume we’re talking about the “hard handle” version) they offered a black hard plastic case. Held the bit driver and I think about 10 bits. I think you could buy them as a set.

I’d have to look back through the old catalogues to tell you the part number, and fairly sure they are long discontinued.

You’re right though - my most used bit driver too! Perfect in every respect.

3D printing could honestly be an economic solution here.

Like any hobby, I dove in a bit, okay $250 is a decent printer. Well might as well get the $350 version. Okay, $750 includes printer and accessories. In that case there is a $1500 printer that is much larger and does more. Hm $2250 gets one that does way more. Ok $4k and that's all I'll ever need. Oh wow $7k and it does **** with metal/stable/car stuff. Hmmmm $15k am looking at CNC

I love the idea of 3d printing parts but for me it's a black hole. I would rather find someone who does it and send them the CAD

Given I'm in a city, but if you've got local maker spaces, they might be able to rattle off a print for $10-20, something they advertise here.

What about the PB900 case SO sells with their bit sets. Or just buy the whole SDM400 set bits and all ;)

The factory stubby case would be ideal, but youd have to contact a driver for that one. No idea what thee PN is. Maybe ebay?

Not stubby, but my favorite bit/driver/ratchet set. Pairs best driver with best ratchet in a decent assortment of bits. As bits break, replace with Zephyr and increases quality slightly too.

Have one set up like this in every shop, plus in mobile kits too.

This is just about perfect. Holds more bits than I need, but seems like a great setup.

If a soft case is OK.............you could get this for about $12 at Harbor Freight.

Of course, you would have to store the HF tools somewhere after fitting the Snap-on tools in the case.
