Picked up a set of pliers at a sale recently because they were so unusual. Research has been little help. it's about 10" long. Has a unique adjuster using a pivot with a spike to mesh with teeth along the handle, providing a much finer set of sdjusting positions than a typical water pump or channelock pliers. Markings are:

R.Caluwaerts Co. INC. N.Y. (stamped)
Made in Germany (stamped)
ADACK-VANADIUM (forged)
D.R.P.a. (forged) (means German Reich Patent Applied For)
CHROM-VANADIUM (forged on both grips)

Can find no info on the company at all, but the name appears to be German. Assuming it's a USA company that imported these from Germany and stamped its name plus the required COO. ADACK may actually be the original brand, since ADACK-VANADIUM differs from the CHROM-VANADIUM on the grips.

Only references I found was a thread on Papaws Wrench, which was essentially another "whatszit" thread (nobody knew). Then found a single listing on eBay U.K. site, had no info either other than parroting what's on the wrench and claiming it to be a tool kit wrench (I doubt it). However, the U.K. listing does not show the Caluwaerts/Germany stamps. Seller must think it's something because is asking over $100 US Dollars for it.

Anyone have further info on these? :dunno:
