Bizarre picture posting problem

I tried to update a thread I had started last year and for whatever reason it will only let me upload some pictures and not others. Seems to be completely random as I figured they were too big so resized all of them to under 300k and still the same problem. All pics were taken with my Pixel phone and were all under 4mb to start with. Problem occurs in MS Edge and Firefox exactly the same. Tried attaching as a file and it gives the little animation that shows it is uploading then nothing happens. Just shows an icon for the uploaded image with no thumbnail pic. Pics that successfully upload show the thumbnail. Tried "insert an image" and it just fails out with an error message.

Haven't figured out how to contact a proper site admin for the general forum either. Given how large that forum is I figure it might be pretty hard to get anyone's attention...

Thoughts appreciated!

Just tried it directly from my phone as well and that failed also. Shows it uploading the pic then the icon with no thumbnail... and no pic.

Think I figured it out. This site really doesn't like the native Pixel phone .jpg format... Took an image that wouldn't post opened it in MS photo editor. Did nothing to it other than just re-save it as a .jpg and it worked fine. I changed some settings in the phone as will see if that fixes any future posting issues...

I have had to do something similar at times. Upload 2 or 3 pictures and two upload but one doesn't.

I usually edit the photo, change the view and go "dynamic" then save it.

it's in an approval que , I am guessing that's why
The thread I linked, or this thread?

How can I see it...

Linked thread is gone now. But I can post pics here now!

Saw the same error yesterday (I think) but clicked off it too fast...

the thread linked in post 7 is the one that's in the approval que .
Ok, so the forum glitched and I could see it but not open the attached pics. Now I can't see the thread. That's the 2nd time in a few days I had that happen (based on the weird error message).

Now, while I was attempting to describe that issue in this thread, I could not access the "attach" menu in the editor

Try switching browsers. They all have varying adherence to the various "standards." The most "true" to these various software standards tends to be FireFox, so if like me you use Edge and a site glitches out on you open it up in Firefox and see if you get the same issues.

I looked into my issue a bit further and it looks like Google phones have a pretty liberal interpretation of the .jpg format in order to enable certain features. One of them is "image stabilization" so I've turned it off and will see how it works.

It's definitely an issue of sensitivity with this site's image rendering though as I post on another forum with no difficulty.

Just picked up a pixel 9 and having the same issues can't upload via attachments or to direct ad and drop a photo. Nothing I do has worked so far 😔
