black aggregate

What would be black in the mix. Looks like little piece of coal. Not brittle. Same size as the rocks. I can't post a pic. I can text one if somebodyelse wants to

The only black aggregate I know of is recycled asphalt is that what you have?

Basalt is HARD....

It fairly hard but not as hard as rock. I can get some black on my nail if I scrape it

I thought they only used rock is what's worring me. You can see a dark spot on floor up close . Hit it with grrinder and there you go. Had so many come out on there own.

True, but it's in powder form and the particles are smaller than the Portland cement particles.

In some parts of the country Lignite coal makes it way into the concrete with the fine aggregates. It can cause finishing and surface problems if there is too much of it. ASTM specifies the maximum allowable amount for acceptable concrete.

Fly ash is used in many parts of the country as a replacement for Portland cement. It is produced by coal fired power plants but is ground extremely fine and wouldn't be identifiable as coal.

When you are at your Photobucket(or what ever the file host site is)

1. Right click on pictures
2. Choose "copy url"
3. Hit the

icon and then hit paste

4. Done
