Black & Decker 1/4" U-3 Drill Switch

Hello, new user here and really glad to have found you. My Dad has passed and I have all his tools now. He taught me how to use them, but not how to fix them. I have a B&D 1/4" U-3 Type C Utility Drill, and the switch has just failed. I took it apart and I can see that there are two springs: one is about 1/4" in diam and 1" long, and the other is just tiny. I can see where the big one goes, but not the little one. Can anyone help me fix this? It's the only thing wrong--the rest of the drill works great.
