I'm wondering if, if I were to choose between these two Black & Decker units, the model 9530 8" random orbit polisher or the 9537 6" sander/polisher (the latter w/o random orbit action), which of the two would you choose if you were to polish aluminum parts, like the kind used on Kirby vacuum cleaners?
The two 3-amp double insulated polishers were also sold by Montgomery Ward in the early '80s as their Powr Kraft model XBA 84312A (same as 9537) and XBA 84313A (same as 9530). Going by the pricing, the 9537/84312 is lower in cost ($32.88 in 1981 dollars at Wards) but the higher-cost 9530/84313 ($67.99 in 1981 dollars) would seem to be better given its random orbit action.
