Looking for a 2nd drill for the shop. Have an 18v Rigid now, and rigid impact. Was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the new B&D 20volt line.

From the website.....
What is B&D AUTOSENSE?
Is technology that automatically stops most screws flush with the work surface, on the first try. On models such as the BDCDE120 and BDCDE120C, there is a two position setting to toggle between AUTOSENSE screw mode and traditional drill mode.

This seems like a pretty sweet option, and has gotten a good review in WOOD magazine.

I've been using the B&D 20V matrix drill and impact combo for about a year and it's been wonderful. Never wanted for power around the house, and I've never run it out of a charge during a single project.

If this new one uses the same batteries (and it appears so), I say it's a worthy purchase. If the included battery doesn't give you enough staying power, they offer up to 4ah batteries for the platform. 4ah will last damn near forever in a 3/8" drill.

I had an old 16v B&D for years, and it finally crapped out on me. About 10 years of pretty decent use out of the thing. Moved onto the Rigid due to getting it as an open box deal at HD, and love it. BUT, having 2 cordless in the shop would be helpful so I wouldn't have to change bits during projects all the time. Thanks for the info. Birthday is in June, so I have planted the idea to my wife.
