I am looking at buying a set of vintage Black & Decker Utility Heavy Duty SawCat circular saws and wanted to get everyone's opinions on the saws.
The saws in question are all metal and are fully polished and overall seem to be in great condition, unmodified and seem to be almost all original, with the exception of the power cords, which are likely fairly new given the condition of the rubber.
They are a 7 1/4" and 8 1/4" saws and the seller is asking approximately $400.00 for the set.
I know that the torque is likely not comparable to that of wormdrive saws like the Skil 77 or Skil 825, however, there are cases where a direct drive saw is nice to have.
Just want to get everyone's thoughts.
