black diamond vaccum cleaners??

A year ago I bought a vac master wet dry vacuum for cleaning out Dad's woodworking shop (in the garage) at the home farm. It is one of their "beast" models and has worked really well so far... no complaints.

The other day I was in the farm and home store where I got it and saw that there was a brand of wet/ dry type vacuums I never saw or heard of before on the shelf called black diamond. They looked a whole lot like vacmasters in a different color. And there were very few vacmasters on the shelves....

Does anyone here know if there was a change in name or same manufacturer making both brands?

Vac master is made by Cleva in SC, but a Chinese parent company.

Can anyone help me please with a Miele Black Diamond vacuum cleaner? The cord will no longer retract back inside and I need to take it to pieces to resolve this, but there is no obvious way of separating the top from the bottom. I have done what I can, but I do not want to damage it. Thanks in advance
