Zero plans here as well. I may slip by Sears on Wednesday, but Fri/Sat/Sun are yard sale and swap meet days, nothing in the sales is that appealing to me.

Well I will be heading out to Sears to pick up one of their routers they have on sale as well as some router bits. Don't really need to wake up early or worry about large crowds because I live in a college town and all the college kids went home for break.

Looking at the 7pc Gearwrench flex head combos SAE or Metric for $30 at Sears. Does anyone have them? If so do you use them and like them?

I bought the 8 pc (not 7) metric set about a month ago, and so far I really like it. They had it on a half price sale, $39.99. I'm sure they'll have the same sale again, I wouldn't get up at 4 am to get the 7 pc set for $30...

That's funny. Seems like everyone nowdays thinks they are selling extremely rare items and want top dollar. Locally there is a guy trying to sell a saginaw 4 speed for $595. I emailed him about his price, telling him the Muncies don't even go for that

I just got a Black Friday now email from Sears, Craftsman Club members get the BF prices starting now Wednesday, in store only.

Only thing on the 72 item list that tempts me even a little are the Flex GW wrench sets for $30.

I won't make a special trip, but if I end up out in the area I will stop in today, check the clearance stuff, and maybe get the SAE set of GW just to have it.

Yup, picked up both SAE and metric tonight for my dad. I actually bought two sets of each ealier this year, planning on saving one set each for my dad for Christmas, but my neighbor saw them and had to have them. I thought, what the heck, they will be on sale again for $29 before Christmas. Not until now, the lowest they have gone is $39.

Talked my wife into dropping me at Sears while she went to the grocery store tonight after dinner. VERY quiet, all the display boxes etc. out and ready, and I picked up one of the THREE GW sets of SAE flex heads locked to the display shelf. Rots of Ruck on Friday. Craftsman Club card worked fine, -$60.

My initial impression is that GW has improved them, very nice.

GW says they are good for full ANSI torque, but I've never tested the limits and break loose with a conventional most of the time. Once you accept the fact that you need to carry two of each size wrench, when you can use the GW its great with no going back.

Breaking loose and clearance due to the head size are the only issues I see with the GW set I bought the other night. Other brands and older sets have had too much drag on the ratchet action to suit me, and some have floppy heads, but seems fixed now.
