Ok so tried searching but, as usual, search function ***** on Tapatalk, but as the title states, does any tool company other than Stanley make all black hand tools? Other than impact of course. If any one has links to prior topics on this please post them up.... thanks.

I've got a 200 something piece set in black from Stanley. I despise them and can't wait to get rid of them. They're way too easy to lose on my tray when I'm working.

In my experience most every tool line that caters to industrial has black tools. Are you differentiating between BO and black colored as Mcfarland asks?

One of the guys I work with has a yellow case ~200 pc set of Dewalt 'black chrome' ratchets, sockets, wrenches. He likes them. Says he bought them to be different than everyone else's so they wouldn't get mixed up. It's probably a good thing too because he's the only one there who is constantly leaving his tools laying around trying to lose them, but at a glance everyone knows whose they are.

Proto makes black finish wrenches. I see them listed on Ebay frequently.

Older (WWII era) stuff from a few manufacturers has a "black" finish - I have Walden and Duro Chrome sets that could be considered "black".

snap on, proto, williams, and I'm sure most other industrial brands all serve up "government" finishes in Black-Oxide (for when the feds don't want to pay for chrome bath).

pretty easy to find. some may prefer matte or satin chrom as well (euro style).

black paint and black "chrome" I think are signs you are buying lower quality tools in general and not for serious users. of course, any tools can be used seriously. but you get my point.

The black husky and Stanley sets are the same from what I've seen. I have a black husky socket set, and some of their wrenches.. they work just fine for what I use them for. I try to keep them to use on indoor "house" projects - so I at least have one set that doesn't get dirty. The case ***** on the socket set.. the sockets on the top half of the case ALWAYS fall out when I open it.

They do look nice, but that shiny chrome is so much easier to find when dropped lol.

Sometimes you have to go black because of the work environment requirements.
